Dehradun: A 21-year-old woman from Lesotho was allegedly raped by a fellow student from South Sudan at a private university hostel in Clement Town area of ​​Dehradun on November 11.
The incident came to light on Sunday after a Zero FIR registered by the Delhi Police on her complaint was transferred to the Clement Town Police Station. The woman claimed in her complaint that the accused was known to her and had committed the crime in her hostel room after a party where he was also present.
Circle Officer, Sadar, Anil Joshi said, “The complainant said she left the city for Delhi the day after the incident and filed a complaint at the Kashmere Gate police station there. Delhi Police, after registering a zero FIR, conducted her medical examination at a hospital as per law and then transferred the case to Clement City Police Station, as the crime took place under its jurisdiction, we have started an investigation for further prosecution.”
