The View star Sunny Hostin drops X in ‘patriotic’ act as she takes aim at Elon Musk

“The View” star Sunny Hostin has deleted her X account in what she describes as a “patriotic” protest against owner Elon Musk.

The talk show host told the Behind The Table podcast that Musk made the platform worse.

“Elon Musk took it over and I feel like he ruined it,” Hostin, 56, explained.

“Black Twitter is what I used to love and it’s been replaced by misogyny and racism.”

The staunch Democrat said she no longer wants to be associated with X after Musk became an adviser to Donald Trump.

“I don’t want to be associated with what belongs to him. I’m not going to buy Tesla, I’m not going to buy Tesla stock.

“I think the most patriotic thing I can do right now is to just delete the account.”

This comes after Hostin was gutted on X last week over her comments about Trump’s victory, in which she blamed “ignorant white women” and Latinos.

“I think (Trump’s victory) had nothing to do with politics, I think it was a referendum on cultural discontent in this country,” she said on The View.

“Black women tried to save this country again last night… we don’t have white women who voted like 52 percent for Donald Trump — ignorant white women, I understand. You actually have Latinos voting for him more.”

Hostin later clarified that she meant white women without college degrees, but she still faced backlash.

DailyMail.com columnist Maureen Callahan was among those cheering Hostin’s departure.

“It’s good to get rid of Sunny Hostin, she of the ‘ignorant white women,’ from X. If only ABC execs would fire this race-baiter,” Callahan fumed.

“Sunny Hostin used to say that about ‘ignorant white women,’ but now she doesn’t know how to deal with the backlash. It seems easier to delete an account than to delete bad takes. Staying brave? It’s more like it didn’t happen,” wrote one user on X.

“The only way anyone knew Sunny Hostin wasn’t on X anymore was because .. we read about it on X. Great! She just canceled herself. White women with college degrees send their congratulations to Sunny,” added another.

Hostin has been an outspoken supporter of Kamala Harris and recently admitted to asking her a soft question during an Oct. 8 interview.

Hostin asked the vice president what she would change during Joe Biden’s administration.

Although it was the perfect opportunity for Harris to stand out, she stated that “not one thing comes to mind.”

Strategists generally agreed that Harris had squandered an opportunity, and if it did not spell the outright demise of her campaign, it was symptomatic of her underlying trap.

The scrutiny of the moment became so intense that Hostin was forced to weigh it.

“I wish I had that much power,” she joked to “The View” producer Brian Teta on the show’s “At the Table” podcast after being asked if her question was the reason for last week’s loss.

“Because I would turn it the other way.”

From there, the conversation turned serious, with the author and lawyer beginning to explain why she “investigated” Harris’ response, which many saw as an opportunity to distance herself from her embattled predecessor.

The decision to remove the X came after Hostin made controversial comments that “ignorant white women” caused Trump’s victory.

Instead, the Democrat doubled down — likely becoming the glorified nail in the coffin of her tumultuous campaign.

“I answered because I was surprised by the answer,” Hostin explained.

“I think it wasn’t so much about the question as it was about the answer

“The reason I continued was because it wasn’t a relevant question,” she continued. “It was downtime, really.”

The View has since come under fire for not having a single Republican on its panel, with bosses said to be actively seeking a conservative woman to join their ranks.
