Man arrested in Toledo bar shooting, police shoot suspect

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Officers with the Toledo Police Department say one officer is on leave and one man is in custody after a shooting outside a Toledo bar.

TPD says they were called to a shooting in the area of ​​Geneva and Arlington around 1:20 a.m. Sunday. Although nothing was initially found, an officer who remained in the area saw a man start shooting into the Crox bar with a shotgun.

The man, identified as 40-year-old Michael Thomas, was arrested on two counts of felonious assault and booked into the Lucas County Jail.

TPD says the officer fired at Thomas, but he was not hit. That officer has not been identified, but has been placed on paid administrative leave, according to TPD.

TPD says information and dash cam video of the officer will be released soon.
