Darts star Gerwin Price shares an incredibly brave opinion about Jake Paul | Boxing sport

Darts star Gervin Price has made a bold point about YouTube boxing star Jake Paul.

Iceman is known for his own brutal antics on stage, and Price isn’t afraid to say how he feels on the mic either.

But that was recently Instagram a post from the 2021 world champion that raised eyebrows.

After Saturday’s fight between Paul and legendary boxer Mike Tyson, which saw the former win by unanimous decision, Price took to the social media app to share his opinion on the winner.

Placement on his Instagram Price stated: “I think Jake Paul would beat Anthony Joshua #JustSaying.”

That’s quite a statement, given that Paul is a relative newcomer to the sport compared to Joshua, who made his professional debut in 2013.

The proposal caused quite a reaction, raising many doubts about Price.

@BLFNCAFC said on X: “Oh come on Gervin (three laughing emojis).”

@ch21scfc stated: “He probably takes f*** Jake Paul didn’t even beat Tommy Fury.”

@JamesSCFC_ added: “Gervin is doing everything he can to finish off Jake Paul. Respect it,” a suggestion that Joshua would have better than the American.

But there were some who agreed with him, with @ChrismanSpurs replying: “You have no idea how much money I would pay to see this fight.”

Price’s wish to see a fight between Joshua and Paul is unlikely to come true anytime soon, but the British boxer at least called Friday’s fight right.

Speaking ahead of the fight in Texas, Joshua told The Daily Mail: “Now he (Mike Tyson) is older, I pray he comes out healthy.”

When asked about the prognosis, he added, “I think Jake Paul because of his youth is the one thing.”

The advantage of Paul’s youth over the 58-year-old seems to have helped him and the decision was made for him.

But it was a spectacle for all to see as ex-pro boxer Tony Bellew burst into action at X.

Complaining about the legitimacy of the fight, he said: “We’re all guilty of this man (Jake Paul)! We are all talking and watching.

“We have to stop this fool. Don’t buy into him until he fights someone who is fit, healthy, and not a grandfather.

“Any good boxers helping Paul should look at themselves. It’s just sad.”
