EC asks Nadda, Kharge to comment on complaints of voting irregularities

After the BJP and the Congress filed complaints against each other with the Election Commission (EC) for violating the election code, the election commission asked the presidents of the two parties on Saturday to comment on the allegations leveled against their leaders.

The EC has written separate letters to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president JP Nadda and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge seeking their comments on the other’s complaint.

The commission exchanged complaints between the two parties seeking answers.

The EC has sought formal responses from both party presidents by 1pm on Monday (November 18), reminding them of the panel’s earlier advice to them during the Lok Sabha elections to keep star activists and leaders in check so as not to offend public decency. is scorned and the model code is followed in letter and spirit during the campaign.

Top leaders of the two parties are campaigning in Jharkhand and Maharashtra for the parliamentary elections.
