Jawan actress slams ‘Raanjhanaa’ actor left, right, center in open letter

In an unusual turn of events, south film actress Nayanthara has slammed Tamil superstar Dhanush over a legal notice over her upcoming Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale. In an open letter, the Jawan actress slammed the actor for his ‘revenge’.

It goes back to when Dhanush sent legal notice seeking Rs 10 crore compensation for alleged unauthorized use of certain clips from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan starrer Nayantara himself and directed by her husband Vignesh. As Dhanush was the producer of the film, he claimed the unauthorized use of clips from the film and sent an official notice.

Nayanthara called his legal notice a “personal affront” and expressed her resentment over his refusal to grant permission to use songs and clips from the film despite repeated requests.

“A famous actor like you needs to read this and understand. The release of my Netflix documentary has been long awaited not only by me, but also by many of my fans and well-wishers. It took a whole team of collaborators and film friends to pull the project together through all the challenges we faced. The vendetta you are harboring against me and my partner is not only against us, but also against the people who have given their efforts and time to this project,” Nayantara said in an open letter.

She continued: “After two long years of fighting with you for the NOC and waiting for your approval, we have finally decided to give up, re-edit and settle for the current version. What’s even more shocking is your official message and demand of Rs 10 crore for just 3 seconds of videos that were shot on our personal devices and are already widely shared on social media.”

“I wish you were half the person you are on stage during audio launches in front of your innocent fans. I have received your official communication and we will respond to it appropriately by legal means. I want to remind you that there is a moral side that needs to be defended in the judgment of God,” she added.

The letter went on to say, “With this letter I only wish and pray that you will come to inner peace because of the success of some people you have known from the past. The world is big, it is meant for everyone. Ordinary people with no film experience can make it big. It’s normal if some people make connections and are happy.”

“You can fabricate some fake story, wrap it up with bright lines and deliver it in the next audio launch, but God is watching,” Nayanthara wrote.
