Ukraine is asking for increased support against the backdrop of escalating Russian attacks

Several Russian attacks have left a trail of destruction and casualties in various Ukrainian cities, prompting President Volodymyr Zelenskyi to call for more international support to pressure Moscow. In the Dnipro, Russian missile strikes killed five people, including a child, and injured more than 20 people when rescue efforts ended on Friday.

Further hostilities were reported on Saturday, when a planned bomb dropped by Russian forces killed one and wounded three others in Kostyantynivka, near the front line in Donetsk region. Additional shelling of the city west of Kherson resulted in two more deaths.

The shock reached Kyiv: a drone crashed into a high-rise building, killing a teenage girl as a result. In his nightly address, Zelenskyi emphasized the need for decisive support, warning that indecision only fuels further aggression from Russia. His appeals to Western allies persist as Ukraine seeks to acquire modern weapons and the ability to launch strategic strikes on Russian territories.
