The teacher accused the 10-year-old student of sexual harassment

A South Carolina teacher accuses a 10-year-old student of sexual harassment.

The child was placed on “no hugging policy,” WCNC in North Carolina reports. The Lancaster County educator’s complaint alleges that the child put his head on her chest and pressed his body against her while hugging her.

Earlier this month, she drew a line when the boy “came up behind her, pressed his body against her and placed his hands on her hips/side,” her complaint states.

The teacher said she had previously told the child that “hugging from behind is very inappropriate” and warned him not to do it again.

The boy’s mother said she did not know about it problem and does not understand how the situation reached an official complaint.

She calls her son “a very loving child.”

The Lancaster County School District told WCNC its goal is to “provide a safe environment for all of our students and staff.”

Administrators are reviewing the evidence and expect to make a formal decision on the complaint by the end of the year.
