Two found dead in Montpellier home, police investigating double murder

MONTPELIER — Vermont State Police and the Montpelier Police Department are jointly investigating a suspected double homicide after two people were found dead at a residence on Gallison Hill Road on Friday, Nov. 15.

The incident was reported around 11:30 a.m., and upon arrival, rescuers found two dead.

The man was arrested on the spot.

The authorities stated that, in their opinion, all the persons involved have been identified and there is no threat to the population.

The Vermont State Police Major Crimes Division, Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Crime Scene Investigation Team, Field Force Division and Victim Services Division are actively conducting the preliminary stages of the investigation with the support of the Montpelier Police Department.

After the crime scene is examined, the bodies will be taken to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington for an autopsy to determine the cause and circumstances of death.

The identities of the dead will be known after notification of the family and additional examination.
