Two arrested, one at large after chase ends in Chattanooga

Two men in Hamilton County have been charged after the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) says they fled from deputies in a stolen vehicle.

On Friday, an automatic license plate reader alerted deputies to a stolen vehicle on Middle Valley Road near Valleywood Drive, according to HCSO.

Deputies then located the stolen vehicle near Bowman Road.

The vehicle pulled onto Highway 27, at which time deputies attempted a traffic stop; however, the driver took off and a chase ensued.

Employees of the Krasnoberezhny Police Department quickly joined the chase.

At one point, authorities say they put in two different sets of spike strips that the driver ran over.

But these stripes did little to stop him.

Then the deputies tried to block the car, but the driver crashed into the outfit of the deputy patrol service and managed to escape again.

Deputies eventually used a PIT maneuver to successfully stop the vehicle in downtown Chattanooga.

At that moment, the four people who were in the car left on foot.

Deputies were able to catch up with everyone except the driver.

At that time, deputies charged one of the passengers, Quincy E. Harris, with the following:

  • Theft
  • Evading arrest (on foot)
  • Resisting arrest
  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Storage of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies also charged another passenger, Tramel Hubbard, with evading arrest (on foot) and resisting arrest.

Anyone with any information regarding this pursuit or the identity of the driver is asked to contact HCSO at 423-622-0022.
