Anchorage police are investigating the drive-by shooting as a homicide

November 15. A man was found shot to death early Friday in the Muldoon neighborhood of East Anchorage, and police are calling it a homicide.

Officers who responded to a report of a shooting at about 2:40 a.m. at 17th Avenue and Early View Drive found a man in a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the upper body, police said in an online statement.

Medics tried to save life at the scene, but eventually pronounced the man dead.

“The police are currently investigating all investigative actions, but believe that this is an isolated case and there is no threat to public safety,” the message reads.

Police have not released more information about the circumstances of the killing or the identity of the victim, or whether there is a suspect.
