A man has been fatally shot in northeast Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A man was shot in the Mount Vernon neighborhood of Columbus Thursday night.

Columbus police said they responded to a report of a shooting in the 900 block of Eaton Grove just before 10:30 p.m.

Several 911 callers reported hearing gunshots and seeing a person lying on the ground.

Police found a man at the scene who died at 10:38 p.m

No suspect was immediately taken into custody, and police say they were unable to obtain any description of the suspect. They are asking anyone with information to call them at 614-645-4730.

Records show it is the 105th homicide of 2024 and the seventh this month.
