Is Tee Higgins playing this week? Injury update, fantasy prediction for Bengals WR ahead of Week 8 vs. Eagles

“Bengals” won two games in a row and got their first winning streak of the season. Cincinnati is now 3-4, just a win away from getting back to .500.

The Eagles stand in the way of the Bengals as Cincinnati hosts Philadelphia in a key cross-conference game on Sunday.

However, the Bengals may not have a full complement of weapons in the game, as wide receiver Tee Higgins appears to be the game-time solution.

Will Higgins play in Week 8? Here’s the latest update on his status against Philadelphia.

Is Tee Higgins playing this week?

Higgins was a late addition to the Bengals’ injury report on Friday, as Cincinnati listed him as questionable for Sunday because of a quad injury he suffered in practice.

The veteran wide receiver previously was a full participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but he was limited in practice for the Bengals on Friday.

Fantasy by Tee Higgins

Higgins’ injury could affect his performance even if he plays, as the Bengals could rely more on Ja’Marr Chase and Andriy Josivas. In the past, when Higgins struggled to play through injuries, Cincinnati used him as bait to open up space for other players on the team.

Higgins played in five games this year, totaling 29 catches for 341 yards and three touchdowns. His last three games have been better than his first two, totaling at least 77 yards in each contest, scoring all three touchdowns in that span.

Bengals WR depth chart

rank Name
No. 1 Ja’Marr Chase
No. 2 Tee Higgins (questionable)
No. 3 Andriy Iosivas
No. 4 Jermaine Burton
No. 5 Trenton Irwin
No. 6 Charlie Jones

Chase is ready and, as usual, is expected to be the focal point of the offense. If Higgins can’t go or is limited, Yoshivas may be asked to step up again, as the 25-year-old currently has 189 receiving yards and three touchdowns on the season.

Burton, Irvin and Jones are only depth options, but Burton will be elevated to third wide receiver if Higgins is out. Burton has 47 receiving yards this year, the most of any three players, but it all came on just one reception and two targets.
