Mahomes’, Kelce’s homes robbed: ‘Obviously it’s upsetting’

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — New details are emerging about Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes’ new position in the outfield; two stars of “The Leader” have now become victims of crime.

Patrick Mahomes addressed the news about it he and his homes were robbed and the FBI is now working with law enforcement agencies on both sides of the state line.

Now, many fans and those following the incidents are wondering how this could have happened.

The latest development is that the break-ins may not be part of a larger crime, but instead a targeted theft of just these two Chiefs stars, contrary to reports by many other media outlets.

“Obviously, it’s frustrating. It’s disappointing, but I can’t go into details as the investigation is ongoing. But that’s something you don’t want to happen to anybody but you,” Mahomes said in response to FOX4.

As rumors spiral out of control, this story continues to gain momentum. However, here’s what we know for sure about the Mahomes residence burglary.

According to Cass County deputies, the theft happened on Sunday, Oct. 6, the night before the Chiefs played the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead. It is known that the police were called by a security guard of the Mahomes family, and the report did not show any signs of forced entry.

Police did not say if anyone was at the residence, nor was Mahomes.

“Yeah, I can’t talk too much about the specifics of everything because it’s an ongoing investigation, but I’m sure it will be discussed at some point,” Mahomes said.

As for the Chiefs tight end, who we know had his girlfriend Taylor Swift in town for Monday night’s game, his residence was robbed right after kickoff on Monday, October 7th. However, this theft was not reported until the next morning.

Police say a back door was damaged and $20,000 in cash was stolen. After the game, sources say Kelsey and Swift stayed at a hotel in downtown KC.

Because of the close proximity of the incidents to each other, as well as other factors, the signs point to a more targeted attack.

For example, in the village of Loch Lloyd, where Mahomes lives, sources say that in the event of a security breach, the system automatically notifies about it.

According to this source, this report was never made and they have not been notified of any other incidents in Loch Lloyd other than this one.

This is an ongoing investigation, FOX4 will provide updates as they become available.
