Sukhum, November 15. /TASS/. The authorities of Abkhazia will hold negotiations with the opposition after the protesters took control of the entire government complex, parliament speaker Lasha Ashuba told TASS.

“Yes,” he answered when asked whether negotiations between the government and the opposition are possible.

In addition, opposition activist and former deputy Ilya Guniya told TASS that the protesters are demanding the resignation of President Aslan Bzhaniya. However, earlier, a government representative told TASS that Bzhaniya is not in the presidential administration building, which was seized by the protesters.

The Parliament of Abkhazia was expected to consider the issue of ratification of the agreement with Russia on the implementation of investment projects in Abkhazia by Russian legal entities, but the meeting was canceled due to the fact that the deputies could not agree on its agenda. At the same time, the opposition demanded to remove this issue from the agenda altogether.

Several hundred protesters gathered under the parliament building. After some time, they surrounded the entire government complex. The Security Council of Abkhazia called the situation tense.

The President of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhaniya, emphasized the inadmissibility of pressure on deputies and called on citizens to refrain from provocations.
