This Friday, October 25, the lifeless body of the democratic political leader Voluntad Popular was found in the state of Apure. He went missing on Wednesday, October 23, after leaving his home in El Nula, parish of San Camilo, municipality of José Antonio Páez, heading for El Piñal, Tachira state.

The body of the businessman, radio presenter and head of the “Comando ConVzla” campaign in the parish of San Camilo was found face down in a wooded area of ​​the sector of La Arenazo, through El Nula, near the highway, with evidence that he had been beaten and tortured.

On Thursday, October 24, Santos’ relatives, as well as opposition political leadership and Catholic Church leaders, demanded proof of life for Edwin Santos, a political member of the Voluntad Popular (VP) regional team working in El Nula.

According to preliminary information, Santos was detained by SEBIN (Bolivarian Intelligence Service) representatives in Guasdualito. However, only this Friday it became known about his location.

Currently, the law enforcement officers do not make any statements on this matter.

For their part, political leaders of the democratic opposition mourned the death of this social activist from Alto Apure and demanded justice for Santos.
