Strictly Come Dancing fans are ‘asking’ for changes just minutes after the show started | TV and radio Show business and television

Strictly Come Dancing fans were less than impressed in the few minutes of live air where they shared their reactions to the revamped format.

The BBC dance extravaganza made a grand return to screens tonight (October 26) with yet another episode. As the tension grew, the celebrity contestants went all out in an intense battle to stay in the competition.

In this week’s special Halloween episode, the couples indulged in extravagant themed dances and costumes. Reality show Pete Weeks wore the infamous Joker costume, and his dance partner Jovita Przysta played Harley Quinn.

As an alternative, EastEndersJamie Borthwick and professional Michelle Tsiakkas transformed into the iconic Wednesday and Pugsley Addams.

The judges weren’t left out of the Halloween madness, fully capturing the spirit of the holiday. Viewers witnessed Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke channeling the Shining twins, Motsi Mabuse playing the role of Cruella de Vil, and Shirley Ballas reviving Winifred Sanderson, reports Mirror.

Still, even with all the amazing rollout, those tuning in from home didn’t hesitate to voice their displeasure with the program’s opening segment, quickly taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their feedback.

One particularly disgruntled fan expressed: “Can they please stop making these stupid screensavers. They more than put everyone on #Strictly to shame.”

One viewer said: “Please please stop when Tess and Claudia are just standing there.” Another disgruntled fan commented: “I still despise the opening of the show.”

A fourth critic chimed in: “Why do they have to do the acting stuff at the beginning now! It’s so boring.”

It comes as host Claudia Winkleman recently revealed the terrifying reason she refuses to wear costumes on Halloween.

The star has campaigned tirelessly to make Halloween costumes safer since her daughter Matilda suffered a horrific injury nine years ago. Matilda, now 18, was eight when the witch costume she was wearing caught fire after she touched a candle.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Claudia recalled the moment: “I don’t like Halloween because a few years ago it turned out that our screams were real. She “went up” is the only way I can describe it – there was a spark and she screamed To me it was like those horrible birthday candles they keep coming back.
