NYPD says OCME rules 4-month-old boy’s death a homicide – NBC New York

The New York City police announced Thursday that the death of a 4-month-old boy in the Bronx over the summer has been ruled a homicide as the investigation continues.

On August 10, around 9:12 p.m., the police responded to a 911 call from a child on Orlyny Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a 4-month-old boy unconscious and unresponsive, police said.

The child was taken to New York Hospital Lincoln Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said, adding that there were no visible signs of trauma.

The infant was later identified as Ariel Gonzalez.

However, on Thursday, the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) ruled the manner of death a homicide. No arrests have been made, the investigation is ongoing.
