EKY High School coach charged with sex crimes

ESTILL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – A former Eastern Kentucky high school coach is in jail on charges of having inappropriate relationships with at least two students.

Estill County Schools fired coach Samuel Dustin Beeler.

Kentucky State Police are investigating the claims.

KSP was prompted to look into the matter earlier this week when school leaders began receiving complaints about Beeler.

The 22-year-old was an assistant girls soccer coach and head track coach.

Beeler was arrested and taken to the Three Forks Regional Jail in Bittville.

According to the KSP arrest warrant, the charges relate to a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old teenager.

Police said one of the female students claimed to have had a sexual relationship with Beeler. Another said Snapchat messages were exchanged with Beeler. The police said they had collected evidence to support these claims.

School leaders said that as soon as they received the complaint, they immediately called the authorities.

“Yeah, I mean we want to be as transparent as possible,” the Estill Co. superintendent said. Charlie Brock. “We cannot say much because it was an investigation. There are still things on which we will have to cooperate with the authorities. But at the same time, we don’t want to hide and act like we don’t take it seriously. We take things very seriously.”

The patrol said Beeler admitted to having sex with one of the students but denied sending the messages to the other.

We called the prison to see if he wanted to talk to us, but he refused.

School leaders said their crisis management team was working with students affected by the situation.
