ORIGINAL STORY:

ATLANTA – Police are searching for a missing Navy sailor who rented a car at the Atlanta airport to drive to NAS Jacksonville after his leave. On Wednesday, the Atlanta Police Department’s Homicide/Missing Adult Unit issued an alert for 25-year-old Devin Jeter.

Investigators say a security camera at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport caught Jeter leaving Enterprise Rent-A-Car at 10:13 p.m. on Nov. 7. Since then, his whereabouts are unknown.

Navy officials began investigating his disappearance the next day when he failed to appear. The family contacted APD three days later to help expand the search.

According to an Atlanta police report, the Enterprise reported the vehicle failed to reach its destination in Florida and was missing.

That vehicle was a gray Jeep Compass with Florida license plate EWAG47.

Jeter is 5’9″, weighs about 140 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes.

If anyone has any information on his whereabouts, please contact 911 or the Atlanta Police Department’s Homicide/Missing Adult Unit at 404-546-4235.
