Liminal responds to non-cooperation claims; That’s what it says

Liminal Custody, a digital asset custody solutions company, has denied claims made in a recent report by India Today, which claimed that Liminal showed lack of cooperation with the Delhi Police in the cyberattack on cryptocurrency exchange WazirX. The report said there was alleged non-cooperation by Liminal Custody in the charge sheet filed by the Delhi Police in the cyber attack case.

Responding to the report, Liminal said in an official statement ABP Live, “Contrary to media reports, we would like to clarify that Liminal has not only sent its response to the authorities, but has also formally met with IFSO representatives to help them do their best despite territorial restrictions on data sharing. We show no signs of ceasing cooperation with the authorities, and we continue to act proactively and provide our support to resolve this issue with transparency and accountability. It is important to emphasize that, despite what the media report may imply, investigations with all parties are still ongoing and it is extremely premature to draw any conclusions at this stage. We encourage the community to exercise due caution before forming any opinions based on conclusions based on reports that may or may not accurately reflect the actual source.”

“Liminal’s commitment to regulatory compliance and transparency remains a cornerstone of our business practices. We will continue to work closely with the relevant authorities to comply with all legal and jurisdictional requirements governing our operations in India, Singapore and other territories around the world,” the company added.

In addition, in the indictment considered ABP Live, stated that Liminal responded to the message. “DDuring the investigation on 27/09/2024 Answer Eleven Pte Limited Le was again notified. Liminal and 01/10/2024 Response Eleven Pte Limited ie Liminal responded to the notice but did not provide data or logs of the estimated date. A detailed analysis of the devices, logs and examination of the relevant officials from Liminal has yet to be conducted to clarify the role of the company, as well as its employees, in the installation,” the indictment reads.

Meanwhile, the WazirX cyber attack that took place on July 18 resulted in the theft of digital assets worth over USD 230 million (approximately Rs 2,000 crore). A hack by cybercriminals targeted a multi-signature wallet. As a result of the attack, WazirX lost almost 45 percent of its assets.
