The Cash App settlement deadline is approaching to claim a refund

Application “Cash”. users have less than a week to apply for a refund for 2021 Data and Security Breaches.

Users have until November 18, 2024 to file a claim for the $15 million in damages the mobile payment service was ordered to pay as part of a recent settlement.

Plaintiffs in a class-action lawsuit against Cash App Investing and Block Inc., filed after the December 2021 data breach, said the companies failed to “exercise reasonable care to protect and safeguard consumer information.”

According to the lawsuit, the breach affected 8.2 million current and former Cash App Investing customers.

Cash App users could get up to $2,500.

The lawsuit said that in December 2021, the data breach resulted in the “unauthorized public disclosure of the personal information of 8.2 million current and former Cash App Investing customers.”

In addition, the former employee accessed Cash App users’ personal information while on the job and downloaded the data without the users’ knowledge, the lawsuit states.

Transaction losses: If a user has suffered monetary losses and has not received compensation, they will be able to file a transaction loss claim.

Users must submit only one claim form. However, if you have multiple Cash App accounts you want to file a claim against, the mobile payment service encourages users to list each of their Cash App user tags and their claim information on a single claim form, Cash App said.
