AND Texas man and a woman are accused of stabbing a man to death after sharing an apartment with him.

Leo Moore and Hayley Barber, both 20, were charged with the murder of Johnny Mc Ross Jr.

Moore and Barber, who reportedly lived with Ross, allegedly killed him, wrapped him in carpets and sheets, stole his car, and then led police on a chase through the eastern Dallas suburb of Garland.

Garland police arrested the duo Monday afternoon after a chase, according to reports FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth.

“It’s been a few days. It appears the stabbing didn’t happen that morning,” Garland Police Lt. Pedro Barino told the paper. “We are working with the medical examiner to determine how long this person has been dead.”

Surveillance video shows the couple going in and out of the apartment during the time period when Ross is believed to have been there butchered to death.

Neighbors said that the couple lived in the apartment with Ross, and that for several days there was a persistent smell coming from the house – a stench that grew stronger as the days went by.

One neighbor, Dylan Meadows, told FOX 4 he heard extremely loud noises coming from the apartment. Other neighbors echoed this sentiment.

“We’ve heard them get into it a couple of times in the last week,” Meadows said.

Meadows spoke positively of Ross, whom he had known for only six months.

“We used to go fishing all the time,” Meadows said. “He would come and sit there and fish with us. He brought us food, sat there on the grill. He was a really cool dude.”

Others told FOX 4 there was high-risk activity associated with the apartment.

“There is still a lot of information that our detectives are trying to uncover,” Barino said.

Moore and Barber allegedly stolen Ross’s 2001 Mercedes before giving chase. They are being held at the Garland Detention Center without bond.
