Army to contact family of fallen officer

Currently, the family of the deceased is being notified through official channels. The Defense Headquarters called on the mass media to treat the information responsibly, taking into account the delicacy of the situation and the potential impact on the grief-family.

The military statement reads in part:

“Meanwhile, the administrative procedure for notifying the family of the deceased is ongoing,”
