Rohnert Park Police say a carjacking interrupted led to the shooting

Gunfire rang out in Rohnert Park after a carjacking was stopped, authorities said.

According to a news release, a 911 caller reported at 4:01 a.m. that when a resident interrupted two people trying to break into a vehicle on Barbee Lane, one of the fleeing suspects fired a gun.

Rohnert Park Public Safety officers found evidence that a firearm had been fired near the vehicle, according to a news release. They also learned that a bullet had hit a house on Beverly Drive nearby. The bullet is believed to have been fired during the incident on Barbee Lane.

No one was hurt or injured, the report said.
