Pokemon Leaker Says Leaking More Details Could Delay Legends ZA, More Games

Although we are not done seeing the effects of the recent large-scale pokemon leaks, it seems that the hacker responsible for sharing these details is hiding information related to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Legends: ZA, and other upcoming projects.

According to message As the leaker shared, no one involved in the info dump will share critical game files for any Pokémon game outside of Legends: Arceus so they don’t “actively risk more damage” to the growing Pokémon franchise.

Starting on October 12th, the leaker began releasing a reported 1 terabyte of extracted files containing unreleased gameplay files, concept art, meeting notes, and more from various Pokémon projects that they obtained by hacking Game Freak’s servers. This included content from as far back as 2002’s Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, with everything from cut content to source code fully uploaded online.

Not only did we get unreleased information about the Pokémon games being released, but we did new information about upcoming titles such as Legends: ZA and unannounced gen 10 games. And while the leak confirmed they know more about both projects and have more Scarlet and Violet files from the hack, they won’t share them.

According to the leaker, since Scarlet and Violet are still receiving updates and can plan special events for the future, they won’t be sharing much more than what’s already available. They cite the fact that the early leaks and datamining of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl may have prevented Nintendo from distributing additional post-launch events.

Additionally, the leaker is concerned that removing additional files for Scarlet and Violet could reveal information about Nintendo’s next console, and could further anger Nintendo over the leak. If Scarlet and Violet continues to be the main game used for the Pokémon Video Game Championship (VGC) even after the release of Legends: ZA, just like Sword and Shield was for Legends: Arceus, it’s a good bet.

In the same vein, the leaker isn’t sharing more details about Legends: ZA or the Gen 10 games, codenamed Gaia, because they believe it “could really make (Nintendo) decide to delay the game” or take more time to process the leaked content.

That doesn’t mean “Teraleak” is over yet, as other files are still being uploaded, such as an early build of Scarlet and Violet, as well as additional design assets. However, it seems that the biggest waves have already broken and now we will have to wait for official sources to share more detailed information.
