A car caught fire in the middle of Sheikh Zayed Street near the Emirates Metro Station and the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Wednesday afternoon.

Heavy traffic is being reported on the Abu Dhabi-bound lane from the Dubai World Trade Center roundabout, causing a nearly 2-km-long traffic jam.

The Dubai Civil Defense Service went to the scene of the incident to contain the fire.
