Sean “Diddy” Combs has a long history in the hip-hop industry, and those who were once close to him are revealing some information about what it was really like behind the scenes.

Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested in September 2024 on charges including sex trafficking and racketeering. The “Coming Home” singer previously sued Cassie Ventura’s ex-girlfriendback in 2023, which seemed to be the impetus for much more information about Diddy to emerge.

It turns out that Diddy had some jealousy issues back when he was starting his record label, and a former friend said that Diddy didn’t like the friendship between Biggie and Tupac Shakur shortly before their deaths.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ friend reveals Diddy was ‘jealous’ of Tupac and Biggie

It’s not easy to make it in the world of rap and hip-hop, and Diddy knew that. But when he founded Bad Boy Records in 1993, he stopped at nothing to succeed. Today, Combs sits in prison, as he did is awaiting trial on multiple chargesand once people close to him talked about what could lead him to such a fate.

“There was somebody on the sidelines, jealous,” said Kirk Burroughs, Diddy’s former partner at Bad Boy Records and former label president. Rolling Stone. At the time, Biggie was signed to Bad Boy Records and Diddy tried to be friends with Tupac, but Tupac didn’t accept him. This meant that Biggie’s friendship with Tupac worried Diddy.

But soon this friendship turned into a rivalry; in 1994, Shakur was shot but survived, and he blamed Diddy and Bad Boy Records; it meant that he and Biggie were no longer friends. However, Biggie reportedly tried to leave Bad Boy Records shortly before his death.

“I know for a fact (because) he told me,” Monique Bunn, a hip-hop photographer, told Rolling Stone.

Several hip-hop stars called out Sean “Diddy” Combs

There are plenty of people who don’t want to talk about Diddy’s accusations, but both Shug Knight and 50 Cent, neither of whom were on bad terms with Diddy, have spoken out about the mogul. Knight suggested that abuse in the hip-hop industry is a continuous cycle, and that Diddy was abused in his younger years. Knight also said he believes Diddy’s “life is in danger” because of the mogul’s knowledge of many celebrity secrets.

50 Cent also recently spoke out about Diddy, saying the two have never gotten along so well. 50 also said that Diddy had a “weird energy” over the years and that Diddy made him “uncomfortable.”

Diddy’s trial is scheduled to begin in May 2025. He was not released from prison.
