The officer was punished for delaying the consideration of the complaint

Taking action against officials for delay in resolving complaints received on the CM’s helpline, District Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh on Monday ordered deduction from the salary of a key district official.

An upset Singh led the deductions at a review meeting held at the Collectorate office in the state capital. District Panchayat CEO Rituraj Singh, also present at the meeting, chided the officials for slow pace of work and lack of diligence.

The district official who has been disciplined is Prasun Soni of the Citizen Service Department.

The collector instructed the officials to pay special attention to the logistics of fertilizers in the district and emphasized the need for appropriate measures regarding the procurement of wheat and soybeans in the district.

Singh said the officials should complete all the reports and prepare for the Samadhan meeting scheduled later this month.

Late last month, Singh had called the district officials for a late-night virtual meeting seeking the shutdown of the CM Helpline. Department heads responded by handling 600 complaints within a few hours.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has repeatedly ordered the closure of the hotline for pending appeals from citizens.

In his review of the in-demand service on November 24, Yadav expressed displeasure with officials’ approach to public complaints. The Collector also instructed the officials to intensify efforts to resolve problematic issues in revenue affairs.
