COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — If you’re traveling on Interstate 26 west of Bush River Road, be prepared to find an alternate route. The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is expected to close the I-26 westbound exit ramp to Bush River Road beginning Tuesday, November 12, 2024. Officials say drivers will now have to take the widened interchange of Colonial Life Boulevard and I 126. to access westbound Bush River, just past St. Andrews Road.

DOT Crews will continue to work on this stretch of highway as the third and final part of the Carolina Crossroads project. Officials say the latest phase of construction will permanently change traffic patterns along the Bush River, helping crews make room for future improvements at the I-26, I-20-, I-126 interchange.

Below is a map of the area provided by the Department of Transportation showing the exact area to avoid until the project is complete.
