A getaway car at Kegworth Co-op injures people

Police said one man was injured after his car was pulled from the scene of a shoplifting incident.

Two men targeted the Co-op in Kegworths Market on Wednesday to steal items before being challenged by passers-by, Leicestershire Police said.

As the pair left the scene in an uninsured car without a valid MOT, one person was “dragged along” before falling to the ground, leaving them with injuries.

The Valley Rescue Squad said two people were arrested a short time later and charged.
