Trendy plant-based skincare brand conquers tweens and tweens’ Christmas lists – The Irish News

Living with an 11-year-old girl, the carefree days of blowing bubbles and bubble baths are long gone. Now it’s all about keeping up with your peers and following trends on TikTok – no more so than in the world of skin care.

At the top of the wish list for teens and juniors this Christmas is Bubble skincare. The American brand has taken the world by storm and is now not only available online, but also affordably in Boots stores in the UK and Ireland.

My first instinct when my daughter started getting excited about skin care was to ask, why? She is still young and has perfect skin – why spoil it with products?

What makes Bubble different is that the herbal formulations are science-based and non-toxic using natural ingredients, without chemicals, additives or fillers.

Founder Shai Eisenman launched Bubble after discovering that, despite being the most digitally savvy and globally connected generation, young consumers still use the same traditional skin care products that their elders did decades ago mother

The result was the first skin care brand created to gently cleanse, care for and nourish young skin.

They even have an online skin school that will help you learn your skin type and show you how to take care of it.

It certainly attracts attention with its bright playful packaging, embossed font and affordable price; but is this a case of style over substance?

With the help of my knowledgeable daughter, we tried some of the Bubble products.

Bubble makes skincare easy for young users by providing step-by-step numbers on their packaging. The first step is the Bubble Soft Launch Moisturizing Cream Cleanser (£16).

It is recommended to apply two to three times daily on wet skin. My daughter’s verdict is that it feels “plump” and makes her skin feel smooth, not dry or tight.

Her favorite product is their iconic Slam Dunk Hydrating Moisturizer (£16). This creamy, dreamy moisturizer hydrates, nourishes and protects without weighing you down. Its key ingredients are aloe leaf juice and hoya lakosuna flower extract, vitamin E and avocado oil, making it a great gentle yet hydrating first moisturizer.

Young consumers are captivated by the Slam Dunk springboard mechanism, which ejects cream in the shape of a flower. Lovely and just the right amount – although my daughters love to make it, she tends to use more than necessary.

“It goes so well with Drunk Elephant B-Goldi Bright Drops,” was her verdict, noting that it’s easy to mix with bronzer.

As I ignore her ‘tip’ we move on to step four – Bubble Solar Mate mineral SPF 30 (£19).

My daughter was once again amazed by the unexpected mechanism of the airless pump used to apply the cream. Light, it is easily absorbed under make-up and skin care.

It’s great to see Bubble responsibly promoting the need to wear sunscreen all year round.

Bubble also has a small number of products that contain active and acidic ingredients, and they recommend them for people over 14 years of age.

One such item that her sleep-deprived mother “steals” is Morning Rays Brightening Eye Cream. This eye cream promises to brighten, reduce puffiness and reduce dark circles.

Although it didn’t get rid of dark circles under my eyes, it did reduce puffiness and was wonderfully smooth, creamy and cooling, making my concealer stay on better.

Containing vitamin C, turmeric extract, green tea extract and resveratrol, it also provides some UV protection.

After launching in the UK and Ireland with 10 result-oriented products, the product range is constantly expanding.

I’ve already spotted a few Christmas gift sets perfect for the Bubble generation. These are stocking stuffers sorted for me!
