A man was shot and killed after an “interaction” with a suspect at a KCMO home

KANSAS CITY, Missouri. A man was shot and killed Saturday night after an “interaction” with a suspect at a home in Kansas City, Missouri, police said.

At 6 p.m., officers were called to the 2700 block of Garfield Avenue for a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers were directed to a residence on the block.

The police found an adult man in the house who was the victim of a shooting, and he was unresponsive. They called the emergency medics, who pronounced the victim dead on the spot.

A preliminary investigation states the victim was inside the home when he had an “interaction” with the suspect that escalated and resulted in the shooting and wounding of the victim.

Authorities said several people were at the scene when police arrived. An adult man was detained as a person of interest for further investigation.

Police said detectives are not looking for other suspects at this time.
