Britney Spears talks about conservatism in an interview with Jonathan Ross

A clip narrated by Britney Spears her conservatism for the first time in a television interview was found eight years later.

When the pop princess appeared on Britain’s The Jonathan Ross Show in 2016 to promote her album Glory, she mentioned the restrictive legal conditions, explaining how often interfered with her creative process.

However, Spears’ team infamously wouldn’t allow her to publicly discuss her guardianship at the time, so her comments during the taping were cut from the final episode.

But finally footage that has never been seen before aired on Saturday during an ITV special looking back on memorable moments from the long-running talk show.

On “Special Guests,” host Jonathan Ross asked Spears, “I understand you’re more involved musically in it than in the previous ones? So you’ve taken control. Are you more in control of your music than before? Why did it take so long? Why did you wait until now?”

The “Toxic” singer, who was 34 at the time, hesitantly replied: “Well, um, there are many reasons, but I won’t go into that story.”

Ross interrupted Spears to remind her that viewers knew “a lot” about her story, which public break included in 2007, so she “didn’t have to go through” anything she was uncomfortable with.

Looking more relaxed, the Grammy winner explained: “Ever since I was a conservator … I felt like a lot of things were planned for me and, you know, I was being told what to do. And I thought for this (album) I want to make it my baby and I want to do it myself and I was very strategic about how I did it and, um, yeah, that’s why it means so much to me”.

The TV host then asked Spears if she was “happy” and in a “good place,” to which she smiled and replied, “Yes, sir.”

Fans have been dying to see the Jonathan Ross Show clip ever since they were in the studio discovered in social networks while the “Gimme More” singer, now 42, made a rare comment about her conservatism during the sit-down shoot.

Spears herself mentioned in her 2023 memoir about removing the segment from television, “The woman in me.”

“I even mentioned conservatism on a talk show in 2016, but for some reason that part of the interview didn’t make it to the air,” she wrote. “Ha. How interesting”.

The Crossroads star didn’t publicly mention being a guardian until 2021, when she described her situation as “offensive” in open court, saying her estranged father, Jamie Spears, had been in charge of her personal and financial affairs for 13 years, had too much control.

Los Angeles judge interrupted Jamie as his daughter’s conservator three months earlier termination of guardianship in general.

ITV did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on its decision to air the unseen footage.
