Venom 3 ending explained

It is revealed that when Venom revived Eddie in the first film, they became a codex that could be used as a key to freeing Knull from his prison.

As long as they are both still alive, the codex is alive (for lack of a better word). But if either Eddie or Venom die, the codex dies with them. General Strickland, aware of the threat Knull poses if he is released, is more than happy to kill Eddie to stop Knull.

Strickland captures Eddie and Venom (using “the six”, a sure nod to the sinister six, but isn’t really them) and takes them to Area 55. It’s a secret lab under Area 51 that studies the symbiotes they’ve captured. in the world

Before he can carry out his plan, Xenophage attacks the base and in order to protect the codex, aka Eddie and Venom, the other symbiotes held in the lab break free and start taking over various people.

All the symbiotes aren’t enough to stop the seemingly indestructible Xenophage, especially when Knull sends even more symbiote hunters into the base through the portals.

Venom realizes that the only way to stop Xenophage and Knull is to sacrifice himself. Eddie reluctantly agrees, and they head to a massive acid tank on the base, which destroys everything below.

Eddie and Venom drag all the xenophages under the tank, which Strickland, badly wounded earlier in the fight, activates. Before pouring the acid, Venom throws Eddie away to protect him.

“I’ll never forget you, don’t forget me Eddie,” Venom tells Eddie. — Just goodbye for now.

Realizing that the acid isn’t enough, Strickland detonates himself with a grenade that destroys everything around him, finally stopping the Xenophages.

Some time later, Eddie wakes up in a hospital and is told by a mysterious general that his record is cleared if he keeps quiet about what really happened. He then heads to New York to see the Statue of Liberty, as Venom always wanted to do.

“I won’t forget you, my friend,” he says, looking at the statue in the final scene Venom 3. But we know what you’re thinking, is Venom really dead?

Is Venom dead at the end of Venom 3?

No one ever stays dead in the comic book world, but for now it seems that Venom has sacrificed himself to save Eddie and the world as well.

But when he says to Eddie in their last moment together, “Just goodbye for now,” so the door is a little ajar. Venom 3 was confirmed as final Poison movie, but there are still plans for the future Sony’s Spider-Man Universe.

Knull has only recently appeared in the universe, and although he is still trapped on Klintar, he swears mid-credits scene that “everyone will burn and you will watch.”

There are unconfirmed rumors that Knull will be the main villain Spider-Man 4. If Knool does return, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Venom again, especially since Tom Hardy seems keen to reprise the role in the future.

As for how Venom could come back, there’s always the chance that there’s some Venom symbiote in the lab at Area 55. A piece of Venom was taken from the bar earlier in the film and kept in the lab for study.

Maybe that bit of Venom that was in the broken vial we see in the post-credits scene is now attached to the cockroach that crawled into it.

The entire Venom symbiote was able to unite when the rest of Venom was brought to the lab before the explosive climax. However, it would be an easy way out to just say that a piece of Venom remained despite the powerful explosion.

It is also worth remembering that a piece of the Venom symbiote was remained in the MCU when Eddie and Venom were brought back to their own universe. It could very well be this part of the symbiote that brings Venom back, even if not in the same universe.

It’s possible that Venom won’t be hanging out with Eddie in the future, although given how successful this combo has been, we’d be surprised if Sony doesn’t find a way to bring the two of them back together.
