See how Grand Rapids football teams fared in Week 9 of the 2024 season

GRAND RAPIDS, MI. Friday’s high school football games closed out the final stretch of the 2024 prep football season for most teams in the Grand Rapids area, and ended the careers of many committed athletes.

Win or lose, it was definitely an emotional night on football fields across Michigan, but some teams will be able to rest a little easier knowing the playoffs are on the way.

The full playoff picture won’t be determined until Saturday’s games are complete, but several Grand Rapids-area teams that were on the bubble had big wins Friday, including Jenison, Holland, South Christian, Zeeland East and Thornapple Kellogg , who seem to have played their way to the postseason.

Also of note, Coopersville won its first River Cities Alliance championship with a win over Cedar Springs, while Belding secured the OK silver title with a win over Hopkins.
