Shah Rukh Khan death threat: Who is Faizan Khan, the lawyer who had issues with the ‘Deer Hunt’ actor’s dialogue?

Latest update:

An investigation into Shah Rukh Khan’s recent death threat led Mumbai police to Chhattisgarh-based lawyer Faizan Khan.

Chhattisgarh lawyer Faizan Khan is being investigated by the Mumbai police in the Shahrukh Khan death threat case.

Chhattisgarh lawyer Faizan Khan is being investigated by the Mumbai police in the Shahrukh Khan death threat case.

After the recent death threat against actor Shahrukh Khan, the investigation turned its attention to a lawyer from Chhattisgarh named Faizan Khan. Faizan was summoned by the Mumbai police after discovering a previous relationship between him and the actor, although the relationship was reportedly contentious.

Who is Faizan Khan?

Faizan Khan, also known as Mohammad Faizan Khan, is a lawyer residing under the jurisdiction of Pandri police station in Raipur. His connection with the case became clear when investigations revealed that the message threatening Shah Rukh Khan came from his phone, Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh confirmed to PTI. As part of the investigation, the Mumbai police visited Raipur and summoned him for questioning.

After learning that the threatening call had come from a phone number registered in his name, Faizan said he had lost the phone last week and filed a police report. Police initially identified the person as Fayyaz Khan.

The recent threat to Shah Rukh Khan follows a series of threats to another Bollywood actor Salman Khan, allegedly associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, over his alleged involvement in the 1999 poaching case.

Faizan Khan’s previous spat with Shahrukh

Speaking to reporters in Raipur, Faizan claimed that his phone was stolen and called the threatening call a conspiracy against him. “On November 2, my phone was stolen, I filed a complaint. I told this to the Mumbai police. They were interrogated for about two hours,” he said.

Faizan further explained that he had earlier filed a complaint against Shahrukh Khan with the Mumbai police over a dialogue in the actor’s 1994 film Anjaam, which he felt mentioned deer hunting in a negative light. He believes that the person who stole his phone may be trying to frame him by linking his past complaint to the current threats against Salman.

“I am from Rajasthan. The Bishnoi community (which is from Rajasthan) is my friend. Their religion is to protect deer. So if a Muslim says something like that about deer, it is condemned. That’s why I objected,” he said. He added, “Whoever called from my phone, it seems like it was intentional. I think this is a conspiracy against me.”

Death threat to Shahrukh Khan

Mumbai Police has registered an extortion case and summoned Faizan Khan as part of the investigation into the Shah Rukh Khan death threat demanding Rs 50 lakh.

“The Bandra police station received a call threatening Shah Rukh Khan and demanding Rs 50 lakh. An offense has been registered. No arrest has been made yet,” said a senior Mumbai police official.

The Bandra police have registered a case under sections 308(4) (extortion involving threat of death or grievous bodily harm) and 351(3)(4) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in connection with the threat to Shah Rukh Khan.
