Police release images of suspects and vehicle used in January killing in Oakland in hopes of identifying them – East Bay Times

OAKLAND. Hoping for clues, homicide investigators on Thursday released surveillance images of the two suspects and the vehicle they used in the On January 13, the fatal shooting of a man in East Oakland.

Derrick Scott, 29, who lived in the area, was killed in the shooting that happened around 3 p.m. Jan. 13 in the 9400 b block of A Street.

Police have not released a motive for the murder.

Scott was shot multiple times while driving when two gunmen in another car stopped and opened fire on him. The suspects’ vehicle was described as a black four-door Lexus ES 350 that had visible damage to the front fender on the driver’s side.

Scott crashed into another car trying to avoid the gunfire. He was taken to hospital and died later that day.

A parked car was also hit by gunfire, but no one else was injured.

Scott became the sixth homicide victim in Oakland in 2024.
