East Ryegate man involved in incident with US Marshals

RYEGATE, Vt. (WCAX) – Authorities say a Ryegate man is connected to an incident involving U.S. Marshals in New Hampshire and Vermont Thursday afternoon.

The FBI is investigating a reported shooting in the Northeast Kingdom that included an alleged attack on a U.S. Marshal.

Authorities say it happened around 1 p.m., when the chase started in New Hampshire and ended along Highway 5 in Ryegate, Vermont.

Court records indicate that Douglas Reynolds Jr., 36, of East Ryegate, was involved, but he has not yet been formally charged in the incident.

Reynolds was arrested in Bradford earlier this year, where he was charged with drug possession, intoxication and being involved in a possible police chase. Then the police found several firearms in the car.
