Footage from alternative angles of the viral video “Cybergoth Dance Party” has surfaced online.

An alternate take on the viral “cybergoth dance party” has been shared on social media.

The original video went viral in the early 2010s when it was uploaded in September 2011. The video, filmed in Dusseldorf, has since been remixed into a series of memes that layered other tunes on the fiery cybergoth dances, including Thomas The Tank Engine themeand’All I want for Christmas is you‘.

Now, user X/Twitter appears to have uploaded an alternate angle of the famous video, “showing more cybergoth dance moves to Early Hardstyle, ending where the famous (clip) begins.” This tweet actually comes from a clip uploaded to YouTube in March 2011 – a few months before its counterpart would take the Internet by storm.

However, users later reacted to the re-uploaded clip on X/Twitter, calling the video “historically significant as it shows a different view of JFK’s assassination”, while another singled out one dancer in a fishnet and purple skirt: “I’ve been obsessed with this queen since started using the Internet for the first time.”

In the latest gothic news Cult‘s Ian Astbury has talked NME about the recent revival of the Gothic in pop culture. Astbury pointed to Ethel Kane as an example of a new artist paving the way for future goth, saying, “I went to one of her first shows. I saw her at the Fonda and knew it from the start. Holy shit, I was impressed! She was very quickly absorbed into the mainstream culture, for example, now she represents Marc Jacobs.”

He also gave Heilung as an example, explaining: “Those guys are engaged in a pagan folk ritual. I went to see them at The Shrine in Los Angeles and people weren’t clapping, they were making intuitive animal noises like coyotes and hawks! Their audience was also very diverse and I loved that. I offer this mix with The Cult.”
