Two men died in Montgomery early Friday morning

Two Montgomery men were shot in the city early Friday morning, authorities said.

Montgomery police and firefighters responded to the 500 block of Northeast Boulevard around 1:57 a.m. Friday for reports of people shot, Maj. Saba Coleman said.

The victims, identified as Montgomery residents Jeroderick Bell, 29, and Devin Ligon, 30, suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, Coleman said.

The men were taken to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Police said the shooting appeared to be an isolated incident involving people who knew each other.
