St. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — Police say five teenagers between the ages of 12 and 15 have been charged in connection with a hit-and-run in St. Petersburg.

A 14-year-old boy was driving a stolen Jeep Monday when he struck and killed 70-year-old Edward Webb in the area of ​​12th Street South and 9th Avenue, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

The Jeep remained a few blocks away from the crash site.

According to the police, the driver of the jeep was a 14-year-old boy. He was charged with third-degree murder, manslaughter, driving without a license causing death and grand theft auto.

The occupants of the vehicle, ages 12, 13, 14 and 15, were also arrested and charged with third-degree murder and grand larceny, police said.
