The victim was identified during the investigation of the murder News, Sports, Work

WELLS – The Faribault County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday released the name of the victim of a Nov. 1 homicide in Wells.

The victim was identified as Miguel Angel Chavez-Lopez, the 54-year-old husband of Albert Lea, according to the report. His body was found in a rural area located in the 1400 block of 540th Avenue in rural Wells.

Faribault County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Scott Adams said they do not have any suspects at this time; however he also said “There is no threat to the population.”

Adams said the manner of death is still being ruled a homicide and that the department, along with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), will provide an update.
