Australia’s ambassador to the US deleted a post against Trump after winning the election

ALBAWABA – Australia’s ambassador to the United States, Kevin Rudd, recently made headlines after deleting comments critical of Donald Trump on social media in the past, immediately following his victory in the 2024 U.S. election against Kamala Harris.

After deleting his comments, Rudd said on Thursday, November 7, that what he said did not reflect the views of the Australian government, The Guardian reported.

According to AP News, Donald Trump has officially secured his second term as the 47th President of the United States with 295 votes to Harris’ 226. Trump’s victory was shared for the first time by Fox News and the New York Post, despite the victory being three votes away.

Rudd’s comment was made on Musk’s X (formerly known as Twitter) on June 1, 2020, when he called Donald Trump “the most destructive president in history,” referring to his first term as president of the United States.

In his comments, he also claimed to be using “Christianity, the church and the Bible to justify violence.” Rudd added that Fox News feeds off of it as well.

Kevin Rudd became a social media sensation as Trump supporters demanded that the 47th president of the United States fire him.

One user wrote: “Kevin Rudd is trending because millions of Australians are calling on President Trump to FIRE him. And I agree!”

According to The Guardian, when Trump was asked about Rudd in a British television interview, he said the Australian ambassador to the US was “not the brightest bulb” and “disgusting”.
