A Rock County jury found a man guilty of attempted murder

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WTVO) — Sergio Morales, 31, was found guilty of attempted first degree murder along with a number of other charges.

In 2023, the intoxicated defendant shot the victim 12 times and then fled the scene in a car. Police chased him for 14 miles.

During the chase, Morales reached speeds of up to 124 mph. He also disposed of two firearms in a residential area.

Police seized the firearm for evidence.

Morales could face up to 74 years in prison on charges of first degree murder, recklessly endangering safety, fleeing an officer and being in possession of a firearm while intoxicated.
