A body pulled from the river has been officially identified as the child’s missing mother, Victoria Taylor.

Ms Taylor, 34, from Huddersfield, was last seen at her home in Malton, North Yorkshire, and reported missing on October 1.

A nurse’s disappearance from her home prompted a police response, with a body found in the River Derwent on Tuesday.

North Yorkshire Police said a post-mortem examination had been completed and a file was being prepared for the coroner.

A police spokesman said: “Victoria’s family have been informed of this update.

“Our thoughts remain with them and we ask that their privacy be respected.”
