More information and body camera footage The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office made the announcement after several videos went viral on social media showing two separate incidents where sheriff’s deputies used force to detain patrons at a football game Saturday.

The sheriff’s office said Monday that while an administrative review of the two incidents is ongoing, they have found no evidence of misconduct by the officers involved.

“In this case, the cell phone camera footage that has been circulating since Saturday does not fully capture the circumstances of these incidents,” Sheriff TC Waters said during a news conference Monday afternoon.

“They (the officers) handled it professionally, even though it looks rough,” Waters added.

In total eight arrests and 35 expulsions Waters said as a result of Saturday’s University of Florida football game against the University of Georgia.

Who was arrested?

Incident 1: Walter Brown

Incident 2: Michael Long, Alexander Long, Brandon Boley

What did the body camera footage show?

1st case: Walter Brown

The first incident, which was part of an administrative review by the sheriff’s office, happened around 4:20 p.m. Saturday during the game.

The two children allegedly approached a stadium security officer, also known as a SAFE worker, asking to enter the part of the stadium they had tickets for. A SAFE employee told the children they had to ask their parents and come back with a ticket to get in, according to the sheriff’s office.

During the exchange between the SAFE worker and the children, Walter Brown, identified by police as the children’s father, arrived and allegedly pushed the SAFE worker, accusing them of kidnapping his children.

Instead of talking to Brown, the SAFE worker contacted sheriff’s deputies on duty at the game and reported what had happened.

When officials confronted Brown, they told him he was being ejected from the game, to which Brown replied, “No, I’m not.”

Brown can then be heard saying on the police body camera recording, “Remember, I told you I’m either going to kill the cop or I’m not going.”

Brown is heard using racial slurs at the officer several times as they try to remove him from the stands.

Officers try to taser Brown to subdue him because he won’t follow their orders.

However, even after being tased several times, Brown continues to fight the officers and even appears to attempt to pull the officer’s gun from its holster before the officers are finally able to take him away.

2nd Case: Alexander and Michael Long, Brandon Boley

In a second separate incident on Saturday, another video posted on X is shown in what appeared to be an altercation between sheriff’s deputies and fans at the football game, according to a report from FOX 35 Orlando.

The 15-second video was posted shortly before 7:00 PM ET. It shows an officer repeatedly hitting someone in the stands. The man tried to cover his face as he lay down on the steps to the aisle. In the same video, another policeman hits another person further down the aisle.

Body camera footage released by the sheriff’s office on Monday was able to provide some context to what led to a violent altercation between officers and spectators at the game.

Before the altercation, a woman who appeared to be at the game approached one of the officers to tell them there was a disturbance in the stands.

The officer followed the woman when she pointed to a common area where there appeared to be some commotion.

When officers finally approached the subjects, someone who appeared to be a stadium security officer was attempting to eject several men from the game.

When the police tried to take the men out, they did not comply.

After the fight, officers were able to remove all three men without further incident.

All officers involved in both incidents were still on duty at the time.

The mayor of Jacksonville responded to the video of the fight that is being shared online

Jacksonville Mayor Donna Keegan released a statement through a spokeswoman: “I am aware of several disturbing videos circulating from last night’s game. I spoke with Sheriff Waters and the incidents are under investigation. We await the results of this investigation.”

A University of Florida representative declined to comment and referred questions to the sheriff’s office.
