Alleged street racer involved in crash that injured 2 spectators in Anaheim arrested

The man who took part in the takeover of the street, as a result of which two passers-by were injured Anaheim detained, the police said.

Hasan Hamid Ali, 20, off Torrancewas arrested in connection with the Nov. 1 incident that happened around 2 a.m. near State College Blvd. and Orangewood Avenue.

Two bystanders were struck by a black Dodge Charger, which Ali later identified as the driver, authorities said. Two 19-year-old victims were found lying on the street near an abandoned car.

Both teenagers were hospitalized with broken bones, lacerations and welts, authorities said.

The investigation revealed that two bystanders were struck by the charger when it went out of control. They were reportedly run over and briefly stuck under the charger.

A video of the incident went viral on social media and thanks to tips from the public, police were able to identify Ali as the driver.

Ali was arrested Sunday and charged with hit-and-run and felony speeding.

The investigation is ongoing.
