Berkshire assistant football coach charged with distribution of material harmful to minors

A Berkshire High School assistant football coach has been arrested and charged with fifth-degree felony distribution of material harmful to minors after a 17-year-old high school student filed a complaint that the coach sent her an indecent photo. via Snapchat.

According to a complaint filed in Chardon Municipal Court, Nicholas Burzanko, 35, of Middlefield, is accused of sending a photo of his genitalia to a student.

Burzanko allegedly admitted to sending the photo but said he thought his genitalia was covered. The image was viewed and it appears that part of it was visible, and pornography was playing in the background of the TV.

According to the post on Hega County Sheriff’s Office Facebook pagedeputies arrested Burzanko on October 31.

Berkshire Schools issued a statement to Geauga Maple Leaf County regarding the incident, indicating that Burzanko was immediately placed on leave.

The investigation is ongoing and no further details have been released at this time.
