A Portsmouth shipyard worker who went missing more than a week ago has been found dead

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The body of missing Portsmouth shipyard worker Derrick Fluellen has been found, his family confirmed to News 3 Monday.

The search for the missing shipyard worker was underway in the Elizabeth River, officials said

According to the US Coast Guard, Fluellen was last seen more than a week ago on Saturday, October 26, when he was working on a ship at the Portsmouth Marine Terminal.

The Coast Guard said the search for Fluellen, conducted over the weekend when he went missing and the following Thursday, included boats on the Elizabeth River, a helicopter, sonar and cellphone data.
